Francis DiNardo Sr., 79, Formerly Of Easton

SARASOTA, Fla. - Francis (Frank) DiNardo Sr., of Sarasota Florida, formerly of Easton and Southport, Conn., died Aug. 5. He was 79.

DiNardo was born March 8, 1934, in Bridgeport, Conn., son of Salvatore DiNardo Sr. and Annuniata (Nancy) Papale. After graduating high school from Fairfield Prep, he entered the U.S. Navy in 1952 and joined his brothers in the car business in 1956. His accomplishments in CT include the 80 unit Breaker Beach Condominiums in Milford, the 20 unit Condominium and 44 boat slips at Oyster Landing in Milford, the Boy's Village office portfolio pre-development in Milford and retail facilities for International Harvester in Milford, West Haven and Phoenix Arizona.

In Sarasota, he developed the Sarasota City Center on Main Street pre-development and the Ashton Lakes Condominiums at the Tommy Bolt golf course.

DiNardo is survived by his wife, Madeleine; children, Frank Jr, Linda, Diane (Frank) Kolbe, and Peter (Lisa); mother, Virginia; six grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Aldor of Sarasota; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Peter, Pat, Ralph, Salvatore and Robert; and sisters, Cecelia, Madeline, Carrie, Maryann and Betty.

Calling hours are at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16. A Celebration of Life ceremony at 11:30 a.m. will be held at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 40 North Orange Ave., Sarasota.
