Frances Johnson, 84, Former Westport Resident

WESTON, Conn. - Frances Johnson of Weston died Thursday, Sept. 26. She was 84.

Johnson was born in Webster, Mass., daughter of Stephen and Margaret Kacerik. She graduated from Putnam High School in Connecticut, class of 1947. She married Matthew H. Johnson and moved to Westport and ultimately Weston where they raised their family. She worked for over 20 years at Weston Woods Studios and even appeared in the film “Corduroy” with her grandson, Erik.  She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Weston.

Johnson is survived by her husband, Matthew; children, Joyce Zukauskas (Brian), Paul Johnson, Peter Johnson (Carol) of Bethel and Mary MacLean (Peter) all of Fairfield; six grandchildren; sisters, Martha Bonneville (Robert), Mary Vandi, Barbara Ives (Richard); brother, Stephen (Joan); and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and sister, Pauline Beasoleil.

Calling hours are Sunday, Sept. 29 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Harding Funeral Home at 210 Post Road, Westport. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30 at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Norfield Road in Weston. Interment will follow at South Cemetery in Pomfret.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church in Weston.
