Anthony D'Alto, 79, Weston Restaurateur

WESTON, Conn. – Anthony D'Alto of Weston died suddenly Oct. 25. He was 79.

D'Alto was born May 16, 1933, in Teggiano, Salerno, Italy, to Giuseppe and Maria D'Alto. Over the last 50 years, he opened many successful restaurants across Connecticut and surrounding states. He also enjoyed working with young people who had a similar passion, his family said.

Many Italian immigrants who came to the United States in the 1960s and ‘70s found work because D'Alto gave them a start at one of his restaurants. He enjoyed spending time with friends and was a Pyramid Shriner member and Third Degree Mason of Ashlar Aspetuck Lodge 142 in Easton. 

He was predeceased by his wife, Martha; and his first wife, Beverly. He is survived by a son, Anthony D'Alto.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harding Funeral Home in Westport. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael Cemetery in Stratford.
