Anna Rimby, 94, Of Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Anna M. Rimby, of Westport, beloved wife of Francis LaPlace and Walter Rimby, died on Monday, Jan. 12 at St. Joseph's Manor. She was 94.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of James and Margaret McCollum, Anna had been a Westport resident for more than 60 years. She retired from People's Bank in Westport, at the age of 75, after working in securities sales. She was a longtime parishioner of Assumption Church in Westport and an avid New York Yankees fan who also enjoyed her trips to the Connecticut casinos. 

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Patricia LaPlace of Fairfield; three granddaughters; three grandsons; two brothers; a sister-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond LaPlace; a daughter, Joan Haggerty; a granddaughter; three brothers; and three sisters. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24 at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave. in Westport. Interment will be private. For information or to sign an online guest register please visit www.SpearMillerFuneralHome.com.
