Marks-White will take time out from writing her third novel to be interviewed by Westport writer and filmmaker Jarret Liotta.

For the past 29 years, she has offered Westport News readers a satirical take on life in her award-winning column "In Other Words."

“We’re all in it together, and it’s OK to not take it all so seriously,” she says. Her articles and feature stories also appear in magazines and newspapers throughout the country.

Marks-White began writing as soon as she could hold a pen, and continues her childhood addiction black-and-white composition notebooks. How many she has gone through as a Time-Life Books staffer, an independent freelance writer, a college English/writing professor and a Random House novelist is anyone’s guess.

She has developed and taught creative writing programs for many years and was an adjunct professor of English/Writing at Norwalk Community College, where she won Teacher of the Year Award for 2005 for “imparting wisdom with contagious enthusiasm.”

She still conducts writing workshops throughout Connecticut and is a mainstay of the Westport arts community. And with Liotta as her muse, she will help us “revel in the funny things that happened on the way to her novels.”

The Y's Men of Westport/Weston is an organization of retired and semi-retired men with a continued interest in activity, fellowship, learning and community service.
