Woman Faces Home Burglary Charges in Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – Southport resident Kathryn Ryan has been charged in two home burglaries in Westport in March, police say.

Ryan, 29, was arrested Friday night in Fairfield and later turned over to Westport police on two warrants. The first warrant stems from the burglary of a Greens Farms Road home in which more than $11,000 worth of items was taken, police say. The second warrant stems from the burglary of a home on Maple Avenue South in which a television and some jewelry were stolen. Items seized from Ryan's home were identified by the victims of both burglaries as belongings stolen from their homes.

Ryan was charged with third-degree burglary and second-degree larceny in the first case and was held on $30,000 bond. She was charged with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree larceny in the second case and was held on $25,000 bond.

She was released after posting the bonds and is due in court Aug. 1 for both cases.

? Westport resident Elise Tardif, of 4A Cherry Lane, was arrested last Wednesday after she reportedly threw a wine glass at her mother during a verbal argument, police say. Tardif, 19, was charged with disorderly conduct and was held on $500 bond. She was transported to court the next morning.
