Woman Arrested After Fleeing Accident

A Weston woman was arrested Aug. 31 after leaving the scene of an accident on Godfrey Road West. Kathleen Marsilio, 49, of 305 Newtown Turnpike, was involved in an accident in which the vehicle's airbags were deployed.

When Weston police arrived after receiving an OnStar alert, a witness reported that the driver of the vehicle got into a station wagon and left the scene just before police arrived. A responding officer located the vehicle while turning onto Godfrey Road from Newtown Turnpike and followed it to Marsilio's home, where she refused to open the door despite repeated requests from the officer.

When Marsilio's son returned home later, she agreed to come to the door and was arrested. An evaluation after Marsilio was in custody determined she needed to be taken to Norwalk Hospital after complaining of a headache and previous neck injuries.

Marsilio was charged with evading responsibility, interfering and failing to keep right. She was released and is due in court Sept. 9.
