Winter Storm Drops on Weston

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for Weston until 6 p.m. Monday. Up to nine inches of snow accumulation is expected Sunday, with another 12 inches Monday.

Snow could be heavy at times, with wind gusts up to 39 mph. Some thunder is also expected. Wind gust of up to 60 mph are possible Sunday night and Monday, with a wind chill of near zero. Snowfall should cease Monday afternoon, but strong winds will continue through the night.

Report fallen trees and other hazardous conditions immediately to the Weston Police Department at 203-222-2600. The police can also assist with emergency shelters, if needed. For storm information, contact the communication center at 203-454-1161. Residents can also contact the Federal Emergency Management Agency for storm preparedness tips and information at 1-800-Be-Ready.
