What's Happening in Easton This Weekend

EASTON, Conn. — The dedication of the Randall’s Farm Nature Preserve, an eighth-grade celebration and a variety of community events take place this weekend in and around Easton.

Friday, June 8

Randall’s Farm Nature Preserve dedication: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Randall’s Farm Nature Preserve, a 34-acre tract donated to the Aspectuck Land Trust, will be dedicated with a guided walk. Sport Hill Road, Route 59, 1 mile north of Silverman’s Farm, Easton. 

Writer’s Workshop: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Steve Berry, author of historical thrillers, will teach a writer’s workshop called “Lessons from a Bestseller.” Berry will teach the craft of writing, and it will be followed by a presentation on the business of writing by Elizabeth Berry. Ticket price of $75 includes drinks and snacks. Westport Historical Society, 25 Avery Place, Westport.

Sondheim’s “Company:” 8 to 10:15 p.m. “Company,” with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, plays through July 1 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m. and Thursday, June 14 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25. Westport Community Theater, 110 Myrtle Ave., Westport.

Saturday, June 9

Eighth Grade Celebration: 6 to 10 p.m. For eighth-grade students and their families only. Dinner provided with entertainment created by the kids. Tickets are $30 at the door. Easton Community Center, 364 Sport Hill Road, Easton.

Norfield Grange Farmers' Market: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The final farmers' market this spring at Norfield Grange. 12 Good Hill Road, Weston.

BooZoo’s Canine Carnival and Dog Walk: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Games, face painting, canine cinema and more. Bring your dog from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for canine awards and dog-friendly games. Stepping Stones Museum for Children, 303 West Ave., Norwalk.

Juneteenth Parade: Noon to 7 p.m. An African-American Caribbean parade will be followed by the Juneteenth Festival on Mclevy Green. Main and State streets, Bridgeport.

American Chamber Orchestra Spring Concert: 8 to 10:30 p.m. On the program will be works by Giacomo Rossini, Felix Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky. Tickets are $15, $10 for students. First Presbyterian Church, 2475 Easton Turnpike, Fairfield.

Sunday, June 10

Georgetown Day 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Food, games, chili contest, Lions Club beer tent and entertainment, with all proceeds donated to revitalize downtown Georgetown. Center of Georgetown.
