Zoning Board of Appeals meeting: 5:30 p.m. The board will discuss an alleged violation of the Easton Zoning Regulation. Easton Town Hall, 691 Morehouse Road.

Thursday, May 31

Your Leadership Skills and Why They Matter: 3:30-6 p.m. Mitch Tublin, author and leadership expert will speak at this free seminar presented by The Connected Networking Group. Westport Public Library, 20 Jessup Road, Westport.

Big Kid Story Time: 4:00 p.m. Stories and a themed activity for grades kindergarten and up. Easton Public Library, 691 Morehouse Road.

Saturday, June 2:

A Country Afternoon: 1–5 p.m. A free concert by the Weston Community Band will be presented at the Weston Historical Society's Country Afternoon. Quilts from different regions of the country will be on display and locally grown perennials will be available at the Heritage Plant Sale. Weston Historical Society, 104 Weston Road, Weston.

Slovak Republic Workshop 2 p.m. Stepping Stones Museum gives kids a workshop on the culture and history of the Slovak Republic and makes a toy parachute in honor of the inventor of the first parachute. Free with admission to the museum. Stepping Stone Museum, 303 West Ave., Norwalk.

Wild Win, Beer and Food Safari 6–9 p.m. Take a Wild Wine, Beer and Food Safari at Beardsley Zoo’s fundraiser, featuring food from local restaurants and wine and beer selections. Tickets are $55 per person and $50 each for groups of four or more. Beardsley Zoo, 1875 Noble Ave., Bridgeport.
