What's Happening Around Easton This Week

EASTON, Conn. – If you didn't get a chance to make Easter crafts, you still can make them at the Easton library this week. 

Here’s a sampling of what’s going on:

Monday, April 9

4:30 p.m.: Stop by Stamford's Overbrook Nature Center to learn the science behind some favorite natural wonders. Young visitors will study amphibians and make slime, discover color science through making their own watercolors, build with magnets and more. Sessions continue through April 30. Recommended for ages 5 and up. Tuesday, April 10

10:30 a.m.: Baby/Toddler Be-Bop at Easton Library. Ages 6-36 months. This 25-minute music and movement class incorporates popular children's songs, finger plays, and simple stories while utilizing props, such as puppets, musical instruments and rhythm sticks. Registration is not required. 691 Morehouse Road.

Noon: Weston Library Lunch And Learn - Artscapades: French Impressionism. This two-part lecture series will focus on the important artists and movements of the period, including background information on each artist's life and work, characteristics of style to help you recognize the artist's work and the relationship of the artistic movement in historical and intellectual currents of the time. 2:15 p.m.: Preschool Storytime at Easton Library. Ages 3 and up. Stories and a themed craft. Registration is not required. 691 Morehouse Road.

7 p.m.: "Taking the Worry Out of Retirement - Protecting Your Next Egg" is the second in a series of seminars presented by the CT Money School with Catamount Wealth Management and Brody Wilkinson Attorneys and Counselors at Law. Wednesday, April 11

5:15 p.m.: Easton Library Craft - Butterfly Mobile. This colorful mobile will make your heart flutter as it hangs in your room. Grades K-2. There is another session at 6:45 p.m. Registration is required. 691 Morehouse Road.

7 p.m.: Richard Breeden, chairman and CEO of Breeden Capital Management in Greenwich, gives a talk at Sacred Heart University. Breeden also worked in the White House as a senior economics and domestic policy adviser during the administrations of Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. He was chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from 1989-93. Schine Auditorium at Sacred Heart University, 5151 Park Ave., Fairfield.
