Westport Swimmer, Fairfield Prep Student Dies

WESTPORT, Conn. - A Fairfield Prep junior who lived in Westport died Monday, Staples High School Principal John Dodig said in a letter to the school. 

Bradley Helt, whom Dodig describes in the letter as a "very talented swimmer," went to Coleytown Middle School. Many Staples swimmers swam with and competed with Helt, Dodig said in a letter sent Tuesday. 

Staples swim team captains and swimmers gathered at the school's pool to console one another, Dodig said. 

"If your son or daughter needs some help, please call his/her guidance counselor and/or assistant principal. We will be sure to provide the help immediately," Dodig said.
