WESTPORT, Conn. A new sketch of the suspected shooter in Thursday night's slaying was released Monday evening by Westport police, Capt. Sam Arciola said.
The sketch was completed by a Metropolitan Transportation Authority police sergeant as described by the second shooting victim, who survived what police are calling a "targeted" shooting.
Longtime resident Yekutiel "Kuti" Zeevi, 65, was the owner of Y.Z. Jewelry Manufacturing at 431 Post Road E., Suite 18. Last Thursday night, he was shot to death in his office during a robbery. Zeevi's associate, 48-year-old New York City resident Ronen Konfino, was also shot and seriously wounded. Konfino apparently provided the information for the sketch.
In surveillance photos from Wednesday, the suspected shooter is wearing a solid green quilted jacket. Surveillance photos taken the night of the murder show him in a blue or green two-tone jacket with a light-colored stripe. The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s, about 5-foot-10, with short, thin salt-and-pepper hair.
He was last seen wearing the two-tone jacket, a black driving cap, black framed glasses, blue jeans and brown cowboy boots.
The Westport Police Department asks anyone who was in the area of Compo Shopping Center on Wednesday, Dec. 7, or Thursday, Dec. 8, and who observed a person matching this description, to call the Westport Police Department detective bureau at 203-341-6080.
