Westport Police Get Better Look at Murder Suspect

WESTPORT, Conn. – New surveillance photos of the suspected shooter in Thursday night's robbery and homicide at Y.Z. Jewelry Manufacturing were released Saturday by Westport police.

The man is suspected of killing longtime Westport resident Yekutiel Zeevi and seriously injuring Zeevi's associate, Ronen Konfino of New York, at Zeevi's business at 431 Post Road E., Suite 18.

The images were taken from different surveillance footage and were recorded Wednesday, Dec. 7, at about 11 a.m., Chief Dale Call said in a statement.

"It is known that the suspect in the robbery/homicide was in Westport around that time for an appointment with the robbery victims," Call said. "The location of the camera is not being disclosed at this time."

In these photos, the suspect is wearing a solid green quilted jacket — not the blue or green two-tone jacket with a light-colored stripe that he was wearing on the night of the murder. The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s, about 5-foot-10, with short, thin salt-and-pepper colored hair.

He was last seen wearing the two-tone jacket, a black driving cap, black framed glasses, blue jeans and brown cowboy boots.

Westport and state police detectives have been working since Thursday night to identify the suspect, Call said. Anyone who recognizes the individual in the photo is urged to call the Westport Police Detective Bureau at 203-341-6080. All calls will remain confidential.
