Weston Women's League Luncheon Scheduled

WESTON, Conn. - Are you looking to meet other women and/or mothers in Weston?

Would you like to connect with the Weston community and contribute to local charitable activities?

The Weston Women’s League invites you to an open house at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. This luncheon is an opportunity for current and past members to reconnect with friends and a great way for prospective members to learn about the league and its endeavors.

The league is a social and charitable organization dedicated to helping neighbors in need. It sponsors ongoing social events to help women connect with one another, as well as sponsoring many Weston community events, including the summer Farmers' Market, Main Street Weston, the Gingerbread Holiday Brunch and Memorial Day BikeFest.

“Many of our members join shortly after they move to town. It’s a great way to make new friends and to connect with the community,” said Kim Burke, membership chair. “They also find it fulfills a desire to give back to help other families."

To date, the league has donated approximately $600,000 to charities in Weston and the surrounding towns. Recent beneficiaries include Kids in Crisis in Norwalk, Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program and Weston Education. Five years ago, the league also began hosting an annual baby shower for mothers who are part of the Families and Children’s Agency MOMS program.
