Weston Voters Share Their Concerns

Marilyn Kirchner went to the polls in Weston Tuesday morning to register her concern about the economy. She predicted a low voter turnout because so many people take a vacation in August. But she thinks there's a lot of excitement and curiosity about who's going to win. "I think people are just interested in the race and they're interested in all the different people running," she said.

For another voter, Dorothy Nevas Freedman, the honesty of the candidates mattered most. "I'm looking for people who will speak up for what they think is best for our government, not just what's self-serving, what would get them re-elected. That's a very difficult person to find," she said. She's most concerned about jobs and the environment, things she feels people are not doing enough about.

The polls will be open to registered voters until 8 p.m. at the Weston Intermediate School gymnasium.
