WESTON, Conn. Westonites can celebrate the Jewish Festival of Lights at a town Menorah Lighting Celebration on Tuesday evening.
The event, led by Rabbi Levi Stone of the Schneerson Center, begins at 7 p.m. at the Weston Shopping Center, 190 Weston Road. There will be live music, Hanukkah gelt and dreidels. The event is free and open to the entire Weston community.
This year, Hanukkah begins at sunset Tuesday and ends at sunset on Wednesday, Dec. 28. It is an eight-day commemoration of the rededication of the Temple by the Maccabees after their victory over the Syrians.
