Weston Power Lines Repaired After Storm

WESTON, Conn. — Connecticut Light & Power workers were reattaching power lines on Steep Hill Road on Friday afternoon to restore power to area homes after Thursday night's thunderstorm. About 570 CL&P customers in Weston and 141 in Redding remained without power.

A total of 14 percent of Weston customers and 3 percent of Redding customers were still without power Friday afternoon.

A Weston police officer was directing traffic on Steep Hill Road, where a fire from downed power lines was reported Friday morning. CL&P workers removed burned tree limbs before they began replacing the downed wires, the officer said.
