Weston Man Charged With Taking Truck

Jose Palacios, 31, turned himself in to the Weston Police Department on Tuesday, March 29, on an outstanding arrest warrant, police reports show. The Weston resident was charged with taking a motor vehicle without the owner's permission and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Palacios was unable to make the $500 cash bond set by the court. He was processed and taken to Norwalk Superior Court.

Eddy Day of NE Artisans reported to Weston police on March 14 that one of his dump trucks was taken without his permission. Day said he had been contacted the previous day by the Stamford Police Department and told the vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run accident.

According to the Stamford police, a witness described the operator as a Hispanic male and took a photograph of the vehicle as it left the scene. Day and the witness identified Palacios as the operator of the vehicle.
