WESTON, Conn. Extended library hours are something every community seeks, but in Weston its a reality. The Weston Public Library is staying open a full hour later, until 6 p.m., Mondays and Tuesdays.
Its a trial until the end of December to see how the public responds, but its going well so far, library director Karen Tatarka said.
The key beneficiaries are students who stay longer to work with tutors or each other and people who work in the area and stop by after 5 to pick up books or movies, she said.
There is no additional cost to the town, except for electricity, Tatarka said. She has extended her hours Tuesdays and other staff have rearranged their schedules Mondays.
