Weston Honored for Pedestrian Safety

WESTON, Conn. – With its relatively low crime rate, Weston is a pretty safe place to live. It's also been declared a safe place for walking by AAA Southern New England for not having a single pedestrian fatality in 36 years.

Weston Police Chief John Troxell was on hand at AAA's second annual Community Traffic Safety Award Program lunch in Trumbull recently to accept a plaque honoring  the towns’ achievement.

In addition, eight other Connecticut law enforcement agencies were honored for outstanding traffic safety education and enforcement programs in their communities. Those police departments are: Fairfield, Greenwich, Wilton, Shelton, Milford, Newtown, Madison and Torrington.
