Weston Enjoys Fair, Family and Fun

James Kunhardt beamed with pride as he said he was able to drop his second grade teacher into the dunk tank in only three tries at the Weston Memorial Day Fair. His sister, Lindsay, said her favorite ride at the fair was Zero Gravity that spins those daring enough to try it around and around at high speeds. "It didn't make me sick," she added proudly.

Chris Spaulding said his favorite part of the fair , which continued all weekend, was watching his daughters have fun, as he stood watching them fill containers with colorful sand. The girls, like many of the children exploring the fair with cotton candy and prizes in hand, had their faces painted colorfully.

The super slide and mini-cobra roller coaster were some of the most popular rides for the children, whereas many of the adults said they preferred the tamer ferris wheel and merry-go-round.

The celebrations continued all weekend on the grounds next to the Hurlbutt Elementary School.

The festivities will finish with the Memorial Day Parade at 10:45 a.m. Monday, beginning at Weston High School.
