Westport Republicans and Democrats voted Tuesday in primary elections. Dan Malloy, who won the Democratic nomination for governor, took 934 votes to Ned Lamont's 742 votes. And with the help of the town's Republican voters, Tom Foley squashed the competition, gaining 881 votes in town to Michael Fedele's 491 and Oz Griebel's 139 votes.
Down the Republican ballot, the race between Mark Boughton and Lisa Wilson-Foley for lieutenant governor was close. Boughton received 733 votes to Wilson-Foley's 625.
In the U.S. Senate race, Linda McMahon enjoyed a landslide victory over opponents Peter David Schiff and Rob Simmons. McMahon received a total of 924 votes; Schiff received 343; and Simmons received 258. She will face Richard Blumenthal in the November election.
Dan Debicella won the Republican nomination for Congress with a whopping 1001 votes. Rob Merkle garnered 241votes and Rick Torres received 204 votes. Debicella will face the incumbent Democrat, Jim Himes.
In the Attorney General race, Martha Dean won with 943 votes. Ross Garber received 430 votes.
In the Democratic primaries, Nancy Wyman beat Mary Messina Glassman for lieutenant governor with 1027 votes to 548.
In the secretary of the state race, Denise Merrill received a landslide victory receiving 1018 votes compared to Gerry Garcia's 497 votes.
Coming out on top in the state comptroller race was Kevin Lembo with 1111 votes. Challenger Michael Jarjura received 384 votes.
