WESTON, Conn. Two Weston High School students were found safe in an Indiana city on Thursday after the boy and girl were reported missing by their parents.
The mother of the 15-year-old boy told police that when she checked in on her son at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday he was not in his bed and the familys car was missing, police said.
Police determined that a 15-year-old Weston girl was possibly traveling with this individual," Weston Police Chief John Troxell said.
Weston police Thursday morning put out an all-points bulletin throughout the continental United States, asking state and local authorities to be on the lookout for the teens and a possible vehicle taken from the family home.
The two teens were located by West Lafayette, Ind. police and were taken into custody, Troxell said. The parents of the teens were notified but Troxell said it was not clear if the teens have returned to Weston.
When asked if he expected the teens to be charged with any crimes in Weston, Troxell said, There are no charges pending at this time, but that is not to say that it couldnt change.
Calls placed to the West Lafayette police department have yet to be returned.
What is important right now is that these kids have been located and they are safe, he said.
