A Westport driver and his passenger escaped injury Saturday night after their 2004 Ford Explorer drove into a tree at the intersection of Cross Highway and Bayberry Lane.
Westport firefighters arrived at the scene of the accident at around 9:54 p.m., Assistant Fire Chief Robert Kepchar said in a release. Both the driver and passenger refused a trip to the hospital but were checked for injuries by Westport EMS.
Westport police are investigating the cause of the accident.
