EASTON, Conn. Two Monroe men were arrested after what Easton police called a road rage incident on Route 59 shortly before 3 p.m. Monday.
An officer had stopped traffic in the southbound lane for utility work near the Village Market, according to a police report. While traffic was stopped, the officer saw a car operated by James Darby, 48, pull up along the front car, operated by Scott Murray, 47. Darby started a verbal argument, the officer said.
Darby and Murray then got out of their cars and engaged in a physical altercation, police said. The report said the officer separated the two men and waited for backup to assist.
Darby and Murray were charged with breach of peace, a misdemeanor, and released on a promise to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on April 10.

Police temporarily revoked the driver's license of a 17-year-old Easton girl Friday after she was clocked by police driving nearly 80 mph on Route 59 with seven passengers on board Friday, officers said.
According to police, an officer using radar clocked the vehicle traveling 78 mph in a 40 mph zone. Police seized the teen's license for 48 hours. She also received a summons for speeding.
An elderly man received several phone calls Saturday from an unknown person telling him he had won $6 million in a lottery, his daughter, an Easton resident, told police. According to police, the caller said he would meet the man at Walgreens in Monroe in a van to give him the money.
Easton police contacted Monroe police to search the parking lot at Walgreens, but no van was found. Monroe police told Easton police they have received similar complaints.
