WESTON, Conn. -- A tornado watch was issued at 7:55 p.m. for Fairfield County until 5 a.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
A tornado watch includes the large hail and damaging wind threats, as well as the possibility of multiple tornadoes.
Tropical storm conditions are expected Saturday night with hurricane conditions possible with 25 to 35 mph winds with gusts of up to 50 mph. Hurricane conditions are expected Sunday with 45 to 65 mph winds increasing to 55 to 75 mph in the afternoon with gusts up to 85 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
