Originally scheduled for Nov. 4, the Reservoir Run was postponed due to Hurricane Sandy and rescheduled for Nov. 11. It was a warm, sunny day, and 315 runners participated. Jason Dufour, 39, from Bristol finished first in 1:20, and Meade Fogel, 33, from Fairfield was the top woman finisher in 1:31.
Police took precautions, riding ahead of runners to warn them of traffic.
The course wound through Weston's most scenic areas, passing the Saugatuck Reservoir on Valley Forge Road before moving on to Lyons Plains Road.
Proceeds from the race benefited charities, including Purple Heart Homes, which retrofits homes for injured veterans. Sandra Lee, an injured Connecticut veteran being assisted by the organization, sang at the ceremony following the race.
