Suspect in Westport CVS Robbery Attempt Arrested

WESTPORT, Conn. — A suspect in the attempted January purse snatching at the Westport CVS has been arrested, police said Wednesday morning.

Brendan S. Kravarik, 20, of Danbury, was arrested Monday in Norwalk Superior Court on charges of second-degree criminal attempt at robbery and sixth-degree criminal attempt at larceny, Capt. Sam Arciola said.

Kravarik was unable to post $50,000 bond and will appear in court April 12, Arciola said.

On Jan. 23, a woman leaving the CVS store was pulled to the ground when a male suspect tried to steal her handbag, Arciola said.

When the woman began screaming, the suspect let go of the bag and got into a car that drove away, Arciola said.

Surveillance cameras at CVS recorded the suspect entering the store, Arciola said. A warrant for Kravarik's arrested was issued Feb. 27.
