WESTON, Conn. Dont miss Saturdays St. Francis of Assisi Carnival at the church on Northfield Road.
The second annual carnival, which takes place from noon to 6 p.m. on church grounds, starts with an animal blessing at 11:30 a.m. in honor of St. Francis, the patron saint of animals. Pets will be blessed by the Rev. Michael Dunn and pet owners will receive a blessed medal.
The festivities commence after the pet blessing, with games, face paintings, inflatable rides, bungee jumping, a rock climbing wall and a mechanical bull. Gift baskets and a 5,500 watt generator with a mobility cart will be auctioned off.
Admission to the carnival is free with $20 unlimited ride bracelets available.
The carnival rain date is Oct. 13, from noon to 6 p.m.
