Sign Up to Be a Happy Camper

Your kids will be getting ready soon to go back to school, but there's still lots of fun to be had thanks to the Easton Park and Recreation Dept. The "range of programs" spans from sports to science, according to Park and Recreation Director Gary Simone.

The most popular camp, he says, is the Toth Park Sunshine Day Camp for grades K-6, which attracts about 60 campers each week. The day is filled with arts and crafts, nature activities, sports and field trips. This year, there are more opportunities to use the inflatable waterslide, a popular feature at the camp. The day camp runs for three more weeks.

Another favorite, says Simone, is the Adventure Camp, which offers rafting, hiking, waterslides and more. The destination is different every day, so no one should be bored. Adventure Camp runs until Aug. 13.

For those looking to improve athletic skills and have fun too, there are sports camps such as soccer, basketball, tennis, karate and lacrosse.

For mental challenges, there are camps for computer explorers, video animation gaming and engineering fundamentals with Lego. The video animation camp is Aug. 3, engineering fundamentals Aug. 16-20.
