Shots Fired at Easton Home, Police Say

EASTON, Conn. – An Easton resident reported to police that someone shot at her North Street home between 11 a.m. and noon Dec. 16.

The resident told police that while she was vacuuming her home she heard several gunshots in the area and found a broken window on the front of her home on the first floor. When police arrived, officers found “a small caliber bullet sitting on the window sill” of the home, police said.

Officers then canvassed the neighborhood but found no suspicious activity. Easton Police Capt. James Candee said the incident was under investigation.

• A mailbox was reported stolen from the front lawn of a Wilson Road home on Dec. 17. The incident occurred sometime overnight.

A mailbox on Maple Road was run over overnight between Dec. 19 and Dec. 20, according to police.

• A 150-pound concrete lion statue was stolen from a Sweetbrier Trail lawn between Dec. 11 and 12, according to police. Police said the statue is worth $250 to $500.
