Shellfish Recall, Broken Statue Top News In Weston, Easton, Redding

WESTON, Conn. - From the recall of all of Fairfield County's shellfish to a farm tour of Easton, here are some of the top stories from Weston, Easton and Redding this week:

Commercial and recreational shellfishing boats have been closed out of some areas near Westport, Norwalk and Darien for the past week due to concerns about a harmful bacteria.

A Danbury prison employee admitted to having sex with an inmate and pleaded guilty to sexual abuse this week.

While in Italy, a Danbury emergency room doctor snapped the finger off a 600-year-old statue while measuring his hand against it.

A recall of the clams, mussels and oysters harvested from along the Fairfield County coast might be proof of a larger issue.

Residents from Easton were able to tour all the farms around town on Saturday as a part of the annual farm tour.

Weston residents continue to mourn the loss of the 12-year-old boy who died in a bicycle accident in Wilton.
