Reports Conflict on Weston Power Restoration

WESTON, Conn. – There are conflicting reports between Weston officials and Connecticut Light & Power as to when power will be restored.

CL&P released an update Wednesday morning saying 99 percent of Weston residents would have their power turned on by Friday, Nov. 4, at 11:59 p.m. But town officials said they were told that all power would not be restored until Saturday, Nov. 5.

First Selectman Gayle Weinstein said Wednesday, “We were told 99 percent restoration by Sunday from the Operations Center, which runs the crews on the ground and has a much better sense. The post number is from corporate communications. Our liaison has called into corporate to ask them to fix their information.”

The lack of communication between CL&P and town officials has been an ongoing issue since the pre-Halloween winter storm, Weinstein said. “ Miscommunication with customers is the biggest problem we have with CL&P, and the most frustrating. We need to be able to give our customers accurate information,” she said.
