Recount In Easton’s First Selectman Race Tops News This Week

WESTON, Conn. -- Here are some of the stories that topped the news in Weston, Easton and Redding this week:

  • A state judge ordered a recount in Easton's election for a new first selectman after write-in candidate Val Buckley filed legal action demanding a recount.
  • Weston police and Weston High School investigate sexting incidents in which students took nude pictures of themselves and then voluntarily sent them electronically to other students.
  • Yale University issued an alert to its New Haven campus, warning staff and students to shelter in place after a man with a gun was spotted on campus. The alert was later been lifted as the search for the gunman turned up empty.
  • The 20-year-old gunman who killed 20 children and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School acted alone, according to a report released by the state of Connecticut following its 11-month investigation.
