WESTPORT, Conn. A Danbury man suspected in an attempted purse snatching outside CVS in Westport is being sought by police, the department announced Friday.
Brendan S. Kravarik, 20, is wanted in connection with a Jan. 23 incident in which a Weston woman was pushed to the ground and then dragged by a man trying to steal her purse in the front parking lot of CVS on Post Road East, Capt. Sam Arciola said in a statement.
The suspect let go of the womans handbag when she began screaming, and he got into a car that drove away, police said.
Westport detectives identified a suspect through video surveillance captured at CVS and information gathered during the investigation, Arciola said.
Police have secured a warrant charging Kravarik with criminal attempt at second-degree robbery and criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny. Westport and other police departments have not been able to locate Kravarik, who is believed to be in the Danbury area.
Anyone who may have information on Kravariks whereabouts is asked to contact the Westport Police Department at 203-341-6000.
