The polls will be open for state and local elections from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. today. In Easton, all voters cast their ballots at Samuel Staples Elementary School.
In local races, Easton residents will choose John P. Chiota or Amy E. Todisco for probate judge, and Krista A. Kot or Ronald E. Kowalski II for registrar of voters.
In the race for the seat in the 28th state Senate District, incumbent Republican John McKinney takes on Democratic challenger Mitchell Fuchs. For state representative, Republican John T. Shaban, Democrat Carl D. Bernstein and Gabriel B. Rossi of the Green Party are running in House District 135, which includes all of Weston, Easton, and part of Redding.
In statewide races, the following candidates will be listed on your ballot:
Governor: Republican Tom Foley, Democrat Dan Malloy, and independent candidate Thomas E. Marsh
Lt. governor: Republican Mark Boughton, Democrat Nancy Wyman and independent candidate Cicero B. Booker Jr.
U.S. Senate: Democrat Richard Blumenthal, Republican Linda McMahon, Connecticut for Lieberman candidate John Mertens and independent Warren Mosler
House of Representatives, Fourth District: Republican Dan Debicella vs. Democrat Jim Himes (incumbent)
Attorney general: Republican Martha Dean, Democrat George Jepsen, and Independent/Green Party candidate Stephen E.D. Fournier
Secretary of the state: Republican Jerry Farrell, Democrat Denise Merrill, Green Party candidate S. Michael DeRosa, Libertarian Ken Mosher and independent Michael J. Telesca
Comptroller: Democrat Kevin Lembo, Republican Jack Orchulli, Green Party candidate Colin Bennett, Libertarian Joshua Katz and independent Hugh Dolan
Treasurer: Republican Jeff Wright, Democrat Denise Nappier (incumbent), Green Party candidate S. David Blue and independent Andrew Grant White
