WESTON, Conn. A Weston resident has been the victim of identity theft, police said, after a PayPal account was opened in his name and more than $1,000 in charges were made.
The resident, police said, received a statement from PayPal on Nov. 14 showing an outstanding balance of $1,500. The man told police he did not open the account and that his identity must have compromised. The incident was under investigation, police said.

An iPod and an unknown amount of cash were reported stolen from a locker at Weston Middle School on Nov. 11 at 3:33 p.m.
A 13-year-old girl in Weston received a threatening and harassing voicemail on her cellphone from an unknown caller, police said. Parents of the victim called police Nov. 13 to report that their daughter received a voicemail at 1 p.m. in which an unidentified caller threatened to hurt the girl and called her various names. Police said the incident was under investigation.
