WESTON, Conn. After many egg attacks on homes were reported in recent months, Weston police were urging residents to keep an eye out for suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
Since Sept. 10, several homes have been egged in the overnight hours, according to police. The eggings have occurred on Harvest Lane, Pilgrims Lane, Trails End, Woodhill, High Noon and Gray Hill roads. These are all spread out and all over town, said Weston Police Detective Carl Filsinger. The last house egging was reported just after Thanksgiving, Filsinger said.
The eggings are ongoing yet sporadic, so Filsinger said residents should be on the lookout. We just want everyone to be aware that this is going on, and we ask them to report any suspicious activity, suspicious vehicles or gathering of youths in a particular area to police, he said.
Although the eggings may not seem like a big deal in a relatively safe community such as Weston, they are a problem, police said. In the last three months, we have had nine incidents of vandalism and seven of those have been eggings, Filsinger said.
