Overnight Bridge Work On I-95 In Westport May Cause Delays

WESTPORT, Conn. -- Lane closures for overnight work on the I-95 northbound and southbound bridge over the Saugatuck River and Route 136 in Westport, may cause traffic delays, the Connecticut Department of Transportation said.

The project, which consists of concrete joint repairs on the bridge, will continue through Sept. 27.

The regular work schedule for this project is 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday evenings. Motorists can expect lane closures on I-95 northbound and southbound between Exit 17 for Route 136/ Saugatuck Avenue and Exit 18 for Route 476/Sherwood Island Connector in Westport.

Traffic control personnel and signs will be used to guide motorists through the work zone. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.

The schedule may be modified or extended due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.
