Nanny Busted on Pot Charge

Westport police arrested a nanny for being a little too hip with the kids. According to police reports, Lori Hughes, 40, of 14 Avenue E, Norwalk, smoked marijuana with a juvenile under her care. The initial complaint came from the parents. Hughes was charged with three counts of risk of injury to a child and released on a $25,000 bond.

? Westport officers had a basket case on their hands when they responded to a complaint at CVS, 397 Post Road East. Police reports said Michael Petropulos, 30, of 33 Silent Grove, Westport, carried a basket of goods out of the store and put it in his car. He then returned to the store and was confronted by management. The investigation revealed $133.95 in stolen merchandise. Petropulos was charged with shoplifting and released on a promise to appear.

? Robert Emery, 43, of 21 Stanley St., New Haven, was answering one set of charges in Derby Superior Court when he was arrested on a warrant by the Westport Police. Emery was wanted for allegedly passing counterfeit $20 bills in Westport. He was charged with two counts of forgery and larceny and released on a $50,000 bond.
