Both suffered gunshot wounds, with the Post saying that "Jeanette Navin died of “gunshot wounds involving torso and extremities,” while Jeffrey Navin was killed by a “gunshot wound injury of trunk."
Jeanette and Jeffrey Navin of Easton were reported missing on Aug. 4. Jeffrey, 56, was president of J&J Refuse in Westport, where Kyle Navin was operations manager. Jeanette, 55, was a library paraprofessional at Weston Intermediate School.
Police have charged Kyle Navin of Bridgeport, the couples's 27-year-old son, with two counts of murder and one count of murder with special circumstances.
Held on $2.5 million bond, Kyle Navin also faces a federal charge of possession of a firearm by a drug addict in September.
Heroin, among other drugs, and guns were found during a search of his Bridgeport home while police investigated the disappearance of his parents.
State Police found traces of his mother's blood in Kyle Navin's truck and of his father's blood in Kyle Navin's home. Both had been shot. Her body was wrapped in a tarp, and his was in contractor bags when the remains were dumped at the Weston home, police said. The remains were found by workers doing fall cleanup on Oct. 29, police said.
Kyle Navin's girlfriend, Jennifer Valiante, 31, of Westport, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and first-degree hindering prosecution. She was held on $2 million bond.
