A Bethel man was arrested Sunday, April 17, on charges of leaving the scene of an accident on Newtown Turnpike in Weston. A vehicle driven by Darren Hill struck a tree, rolled back and rested on another tree before he fled the scene, police said.
Hill, 39, turned himself in to Weston police and was charged with evading responsibility and failure to drive in the proper lane. He was released on a written promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on April 27.
Jennifer Hill, Darrens wife and the registered owner of the vehicle, a gray Subaru station wagon, said told police her husband had been on his way home from work and she she was concerned because he hadnt arrived home yet.
