When Easton resident Noelle Graupner of 169 Sport Hill Road finished shopping at Anthroplogie in Westport on Saturday night, the alarm system sounded as she walked out.
At 7:42 p.m., Westport police were called to the store, located at 1365 Post Road E., on a report that a shoplifter was in custody. Upon arrival, police found Graupner, 22, who allegedly tripped the stores alarm as she tried to leave. A search of her shopping bag revealed an additional $489.99 worth of merchandise that she had not paid for, which she later confessed to stealing.
Graupner was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released on a promise to appear in court Nov. 9.
