Abraham Lincoln, aka Abraham Wegener, put his arm around Darth Vader, aka GianThomas Zuanelli, to pose for a photograph Saturday afternoon at Samuel Staples Elementary School, while Cinderella chatted with a strawberry and a herd of sheep rode by on a tractor.
The Friends of the Easton Library's Book Parade drew crowds of Easton children in costumes to march from Staples to the library. Parents helped their children onto the floats and into their princess dresses before the parade stepped off on Morehouse Road.
The path to the library was lined with wooden cutouts of Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, the Rainbow Fish and other famous storybook characters.
The Easton Brownie troops marched proudly with their sign, donning their best sleepover party pajamas, while Jesse Lee Church preschoolers dressed as fish under the sea on an underwater-themed float.
New Academy preschoolers were "Sheep in a Jeep" and waved to their parents as they drove by. The kids decided to chant "Darth Vader, Darth Vader!" instead of "Baa," despite their parents' corrections from the sidelines.
