Hunting Closes Weston's Devil's Den to Hiking

WESTON, Conn. — Devil's Den is off limits to Weston hikers Monday and Tuesday to allow deer hunting. The Nature Conservancy is permitting hunting in an effort to control the deer population.

Signs will be posted throughout the public entrances, and hunting will take place in interior areas of the preserve, far away from homes.

All venison from the hunt will be donated to Hunters for the Hungry, a statewide nonprofit group that distributes food to local charities and food pantries.
