Heavy Fog Warning Issued

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for Southern Fairfield County until 7 a.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service warns.

Areas of dense fog formed Monday night and were to continue along coastal Connecticut until Tuesday morning. This is the second straight morning with heavy fog reported.

Visibility of a quarter mile or less will make driving hazardous, the weather service says. Drivers should use low beam headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead in case of sudden stops.

The fog advisory extends to coastal Westchester County, N.Y., as well as the southern parts of New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties.

The outlook is for cloudy, wet weather for the rest of Tuesday.
