WESTON, EASTON AND REDDING, Conn. – It was graduation week in Weston, Easton and Redding this week, as the area’s high schools sent off their seniors and the other schools wrapped up classes. Here are some of the top stories from the last week in Weston, Easton and Redding.

? The 2012-13 school year ended in all three towns this week. Weston sent off its seniors Wednesday night and finished classes Thursday, while Easton and Redding’s students finished the year Friday before Joel Barlow’s graduation Sunday.

? In other education news, Weston High’s James Willis and Liam Keith took first prize in a statewide video contest for their idea to improve education in Connecticut.

? Weston Police made a quick arrest Monday, charging three of burglary suspects shortly after they were spotted by a witness leaving a Godfrey Road East home, according to police reports.

? Redding Police announced that they will join with other departments in the region to crack down on distracted driving, particularly drivers who text behind the wheel.

? Railroad passengers heading to Redding will see improved rides in the future, as the state secured funding to improve the Metro-North Danbury Line.

? Aquarion customers around the area had their chance to protest a proposed rate increase. The utility is petitioning the state to allow for an increase of more than 18 percent later this year.
