A downed tree near Old Hyde Road this morning caused brief power outages later in the day while crews were repairing the situation. The tree fell around 10:30 this morning but repairs shortly after 1:30 p.m. caused the power to go out in the library for a short time. The library remained open during the outage. Crews are splicing the wires, which were sparking earlier this morning, to fix the problem. Old Hyde Road remains closed. According to CL&P, 123 customers in Weston still have no power as of around 4 p.m.
