Easton's Votes Are In

The 736 primary votes cast today in Easton were counted less than 25 minutes after the polls closed. 428 Republicans and 265 Democrats handed in their ballots at Samuel Staples Elementary School on Tuesday. The town's top picks for governor were Michael Fidele (R) and Dan Malloy (D).

For the Republicans, Fedele received 195 votes, just 16 more than Tom Foley. 74 votes went to Oz Griebel.

Mark Boughton was by far the most popular choice for lieutenant governor with 264 votes. Lisa Wilson-Foley received 151.

Linda McMahon racked up 239 votes for Senate, compared with 140 for Peter Schiff and 74 for Rob Simmons.

Dan Dibecella received the most nods for Congress with 214, versus 180 for Rick Torres and 55 for Rob Merkle. Martha Dean won the Attorney General spot.

On the Democratic side, Malloy beat Ned Lamont, 181 to 93. Nancy Wyman was 124 votes more popular than Mary Glassman at 70. Denise Merrill won the Senate spot with 167 votes versus Gerry Garcia's 83. Democrat Kevin Lembo beat Michael Jarjura for comptroller, 188 to 61.
